MANIFESTING VICTORY

A STONEMASON'S JOURNEY

About

01 Background

Fran Hammond, of North Wales, is carving his passion for the Philadelphia Eagles into stone—literally. He is nearing completion of a striking granite sculpture, a creative reimagining of Robert Indiana’s iconic LOVE statue, celebrating both his love for Philly and the Eagles.

Fran has been racing to finish his masterpiece before February 6, the day he is scheduled for colon cancer surgery. Just days later, on February 9—his birthday—he’ll be watching the Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII from his hospital room as he recovers.

03 Purpose

A Tribute to Philly Pride

The sculpture features a bold “E” for the Eagles, emerging from a meticulously hand-carved granite arch—a testament to Fran’s unparalleled craftsmanship in the art of drystone construction. A DSWA-GB Level II Certified Waller and owner of Morning Dew Stonework and Landscape, Fran has poured countless hours of cutting, chiseling, and shaping into this masterpiece, turning raw granite into a powerful symbol of resilience, unity, and Eagles pride.

Beyond his art, Fran is a father of three, an outdoor enthusiast, and a lifelong Philly sports fan. His dedication to craftsmanship has left a mark on the city, with his portfolio including memorials for Philadelphia icons like Flyers founder Ed Snider and the esteemed Roberts family.
